Patt mitchellp@district87.org Bloomington, Illinois | I have watched my dad jump for many years and have been extremely proud of him and his accomplishments with Liberty. This past Sunday, he jumped into the IL State fair with an American Flag before a concert dedicated to veterans. My four children were there; two of which saw him jump for the first time. The roar of the crowd was absoutely amazing when he touched down with the flag. The skydivers got a louder round of applause than Lee Greenwood who performed later that evening. My kids are facinated by skydiving and maybe one of them will jump with Liberty someday! 08/14/2002 @ 08:04 |
Mark Limond limond@cox.net El Cajon, California | A better, classier or more patriotic aerial act would be nearly impossible to find. As a former member of the United States Style & Accuracy Parachute Team, I have personally witnessed their performances in Wisconsin, Illinois, California and at several midwest rural county fairs. The Liberty Parachute Team is the best. 08/07/2002 @ 13:43 |

Chuck Feser clfeser@msn.com Council Bluffs, Iowa | I have seen the Liberty Parachute Team at several airshows. Every time I see their large flags and their red, white and blue parachutes it fills my heart with pride. I recently was able to see one of their night shows, I still cannot belive what I saw. They lit up the entire sky. I felt like a kid again at a magic show both being amazed and wondering how they did it. 06/30/2002 @ 10:35 |

Jim Twardowski LinertyParachute@aol.com Kingwood, Texas | Liberty Parachute Team Changes Hands,
continues patriotic tradition.
The Liberty Parachute Team is under new ownership after 18 years of
cutting edge parachute demonstrations in the airshow industry.
New owners, Doug Gipe and Larry Bartlett, vow to continue the basic
traditions envisioned by team originator J.T.Hill as well as add several new
spectacular acts to the already impressive performance package.
The team was started by Hill in 1984 with the idea of offering a highly
visual skydiving presentation with a distinctive patriotic flavor. Designing a
program that would be captive and entertaining to savvy airshow audiences
was challenging both technically and creatively. Bigger, Flashier and Better
were the buzz words J.T. focused his energies toward, that tradition
continues today.
Doug Gipe, a health and safety advisor for a large Omaha based
construction firm and Larry Bartlett, chief pilot for Duncan Aviation,
headquarters in Lincoln Neb. decided to purchase the assists of the team
after Hill expressed his desire to become involved with other projects.
The new owners have been long time Liberty Team members, and have
helped to build the organization to the respected level it has reached and
maintained over the years. Liberty’s innovation in the parachute
demonstration arena is the cornerstone of it’s popularity. The first to
incorporate “ Mega Glory ”an extremely large American flag as part of it’s
opening, as well as the first to utilize the high volume “candy canes of
smoke” producing visual effects never before seen. Liberty Team was the
leader of night air show performances, displaying brilliant pyrotechnics
both in freefall and under canopy. Improvements to volume and intensity
over the years keep the “Para-pyro” display an awe inspiring crowd favorite,
and the next generation is nearly through it’s testing phase.
The Liberty Parachute Team’s extencive performance package offers
show coordinators an opportunity to design a custom presentation, specific
to their site and audience needs. The team boasts the most expieranced
group of performers in the industry, all hold an Expert license as well as the
Professional rating, averaging over 25 years and 2500 jumps in skydiving
for each of the eight members.
