Was an Infrared tech with RVAH-14 from late 72 till she decommissioned in May 1974. The absolute best time in my 21 years in the Navy. I can recall many times in Albany riding around with Charlie MCown in his 72 Gran Prix, me drunk, him MUCH drunker so I drove as he tried to shoot out street lights with his .38. Never argue with a man with a gun in his hand. Loved the Viggie and have never forget all the great guys and that wonderful aircraft.

Great to hear from Ronald Shaulis. I remember your "Bug Eye" Sprite at NAS Albany. Should have bought it from you when the trans stuck in 2nd gear. Kept in touch with several shipmates.... can you believe it...58 years old now!!!!!! The one question the USN didn't cover was.. "How can time fly faster than any aircraft made?

NAS Albany Ga., RVAH-3, 1969-72 Worked in Power-Plants, Check Crew, Maint.Control, Line (P/C).Left the USN as ADJ-3. Did carrier quals on USS America & USS Midway, and a few I don't remember. Great learning experiences, but being young, homesick etc I didn't appreciate it until later. Had good times in Albany. The Georgia peaches were 2nd to none. If anyone stumbles upon my comments, I'd like to hear from you'all. ADJ-3 Badger
