I was trained in Electrical Power Production at the old J-Cells in 1966. Had a great time while I was there.

Posted to Sheppard for technical training Fall, 1974, after basic training. Graduated 12 weeks later and off to Langley AFB. Great club scene for airmen (drank too much 2% beer :0) Chow OK (not as good as Basic). Met a Cambodian; part of a group training on T-28 static airframes. Hope he survived what came after. For the first time, women were training to be aircraft mechanics along side us. Made things interesting. Was there the day the old tower burned as it was being dismantled by torches to be moved elsewhere. Remember the day RM Nixon resigned. Had just come out of the theater after watching "Crazy Mary, Dirty Larry". So long, youth :'-(

My son is stationed there presently. And It interested me greatly that Delford Jackson from Wilmington, OH., had been there many years ago. My son spent several years growing up in Wilmington, where I worked, and that I 'believe' was a one SAC base or runway...All the best to Delford...who knows, maybe we were neighbors!
