| Kurt Dismukes Clinton, NC | Was stationed in the P.I with the FooDogs from 1983-1986. Went over there as a regular ground pounder. POD came out asking for vol's to become COD crewman. David Defonzo (I think he was a framer)and myself got accepted into the squadron program. Left for NACCS in Sept 83 and SERE school following P'cola. Charlie MacMolin and Bill Murphy I'm always thankful to. Left the P.I in March of 86 and came back stateside. Colder then a witchs tit in Norfolk I remember. Became the Transport flight crew plane captain NATOPS Eval, low/high power Eval and from there history. Run across J.T Defevers then. Then again in Tinker with TACAMO. Glad I did it. | Robert Beagle Conneaut, OH | Spent a few good years with VRC-30 as a loadmaster from 1988-1991. Lots of good times and memories were made in and around the loveable COD and took two trips around Cape Horn; one was on the Lincoln. | William Murphy , TN | Flew as a C-2 Plane Captain/Loadmaster from Dec 74 to Oct 88. Had flight time in all of the last 12 remaining original C-2's and 7 of the reprocured. Flew in VRC-50 Dec 74 - May of 78 and Oct of 81 - Oct of 88. Flew in VR-24 from June of 78 to June of 81. Have many great memories of flying and working in both squadrons. Awesome job, fanstatic people... served from 84-90... had my first flight on the old C-1 then we tranistioned to the C-2's. Rode a Greyhound from CA to VA down around Cape Horn in South America following and supporting the Carl Vinson along its way. Did some flying in C2S loved the P.I fun place to be when u are in your teens .
