| Richard J. Hammond Little Current (P. O. Box 548), ON | I am attempting to locate information on a Beechcraft UC-43B, serial # 42-61097 that burned and sank near Manitoulin Island, Lake Huron, during President Roosevelt's visit to this area in Aug. 1943 (incident occured Aug. 6, 1943). I have located this aircraft and it has been partialy salvaged and place on display in a local museum.
This particular aircraft was equipped with floats (very few where - I believe around 30). I would like to know who manufactured the floats and who installed them? I particularly require a photo of a Staggerwing, float equipped as well as the history of this particular aircraft. Blueprints of this aircraft would also be most useful for our display in the museum. Can you be if assistance or offer advise - provide lead, etc. ? Sincerely, Richard J.
