I am looking for information on KB-29 crews from Biggs AFB TX. I was told that my Grandfather Capt. Cecil J. Harms flew the KB-29. I was also told the that it may have had the name Pritty Netty. I can find no records of this and was hoping someone might be able to help me. He was in the reserves at the time. He was working as a airtrafic controler with the FAA at the time. He flew 28 missions as the pilot of the Harms crew on a B-17 named the Bang Bang LuLu in 1945.

I was stationed in the control tower at Walker AFB in Roswell from March 19, 1949 to Mar 19, 1950. The receiver aircraft (and tanker aircraft) were not yet designated "K". In fact I never heard of a KB-29 until I got to Biggs AFB in El Paso after March 19, 1950.

I was in the Civil Air Patrol at the time (as well as the USAF) and one function of the Roswell Squadron was to seek out the broken off hoses during these crude hookups. I brought one back in the front seat on an L-4 after landing in the desert and recovering it. Not easy, good thing it was short.
