as a boy, i lived near Biggs AFB. then it was the home of B-52s. I could hear them cranking in the morning, and watch them taking off during alerts. One after another, so much smoke from those turbojets that i sort of felt sorry for the last crew to depart. Most beautiful aircraft ever built. I portrays ultimate power. Power that should never fall into the wrong hands. It went into service the year I was born. I got to see one as a boy up close. I stood just a little taller than one of the tires. I stand in awe of them to this day. I had plastic models of this aircraft as a kid, and countless pictures of it to this day. The day this aircraft rolled out at Boeing, was the brightest day of Boeing's existence. I still hope, though, it will never be used for the purpose it was built.
