The Cocke Nighthawk is a bit of a mystery glider. Was it the famous Bowlus "Paper Wing" or was it, as Lt. Wm. A. Cocke, Jr. claimed, a glider of his own design? Visually similar to the Paper Wing, there are some differences between it and the Nighthawk.

Cocke used the Nighthawk to set the US and World duration records for gliders by flying along the Nuunau Pali, on Oahu, Hawaii, for 23 hours and 34 minutes during December 1934. Although the World mark was subsequently broken, Cocke's official US record still stands!
