Bob, the OE-1s you flew from Okinawa were probably the ones we flew while serving with VMO-2, in 1957&58. The driveway to the motor pool at Sukiran Army base was our runway. We also flew HOK-1 synchropters with a horrible availability rate. Great plane, poor support. Geparton@aol.com

I flew this girl in USMC in Japan 1961. Had to fly it with 4 others to Japan from Okinawa. Almost did not make it because we had a weather front come in. The chase plane was a DC-3. One of my fellow pilots ran out of fuel on the runway as we landed. It was close but we made it.

I am looking for any information on OE1 133812. This girl was in the Marines from 52 untill at lease 64. She spent time with VMO2 and VMO6. It spent time in Korea and many bases on the East Coast. I am currently restoring this bird and would like any info about her time in the Marines. Mike Hofstetter
