Thanks for giving my great grandfather the recognition he deserves. I am producing a documentary on is life to be aired on PBS. I'm looking for anyone who has pictures of Mr. Sorensen

Cheers

As the war continued the consolidated plant was too small and too slow
in producing the B-24 Liberators. Another plant was conceived
by Charles E. Sorensen and built by Henry Ford near Detroit, Michigan.
The plant was called Willow Run after a creek in the area that
it was built.

The Willow Run plant was the largest, and today may still be,
single room under one roof. The last man to live on the Willow
Run property, before the plant was built, was named Benjamin Kidder
who wrote a book named, "Willow Run, Colossus of American Industry.

A good series of excerpts from this book and some great photos
can be found at the following address.

One more thing, about the aeroweb site, this is the greatest
aviation reference on the web and is a true public service.
