The picture on page 41 of your submitted photos (photo # 898 ?) is grouped with Consolidated B-24M, but it is NOT a Consolidated B-24. Rather, it is a photo of an AVRO Shackleton, a British-built ASW aircraft, rather than an American-built heavy bomber.

As an old tail gunner on a B24M Bomber it is great to see the interest in the Army Air Force planes. Would love to see some of my old crew members. How can I get a good replica of the this plane for my 8 years old grandson who is now very interested in World War Two planes.

B-24M-20-FO SN#44-51228 was the last B-24 in Air Force inventory when it was retied in 1953. It is presently in the hands of the Duxford Facility of the Imperial War Museum England where it's being rebuilt for display in the American Air Power display area. Pictures of her in the rebuild hangar are available (taken 03/2002)

A B24M is being restored by the B24 Liberator Memorial fund
based in Werribee. The project is coming along well and they
also have a substantial holding of parts to trade.

Your are right! The photo on the left is a Shackleton! Probably is a MK III.

THIS IS PICTURE OF A SHACKLETON, NOT A B-24M. I THINK IT'S A
MK. 3, BECAUSE OF THE TRICYCLE GEAR, BUT I AM NOT SURE.
