Their was no such aircraft as a P3Y, but the Catalina was a "PBY-1 PBY-2 PBY-3 PBY-4 PBY-5 as well as PBY-5A and 6A." Also the PBY-5 and 5-A were powered by Pratt and Whitney Twin Wasp R1830-92 engines of 1200HP as was the PBY-6A. There are a number of these aircraft still flying around the world.

This information would be helpful in settling a small wager. What was the glide ratio of the Consolidated PBY3, Catalina, with one hour fuel reserve, four crew members and no bomb load?
Thanks
