I had C131F BUNO 141006 at OMD Bermuda from 1974-1977 when I left the island. We had our collector go out on the starboard engine coming out of NAS Norfolk, which was our normal run from Bermuda. The Navy base is closed now, but oh what a lovely tour.

To any and all on this site, I am in need of some help. Few years ago we purchased a C-131F at a auction, went and got it flying again. Unfortunantly it has sat for the last year and has a few issues to take care of. I am looking for any information on where I might be able to find parts, mainly airframe. Any information would be greatly appreciated, please contact me by e-mail ni909ne@hotmail.com

Hey Mike Finder when you see this e-mail me at steverob39@swbell.net. We crewed together on 140997. Jimmy Neil was our crew chief. I remember you Rejonis,Bumgaurdner, Frenchy. I have an 8mm movie film of us on our last party before some of us were discharged. I remember Hoot and a few others. Steve Roberts

I served in VR-1 NAS Norfolk from Oct. '71 until Feb. '75 AE-3
flew as a crew member on several of the C-131s. Can't recall the tail numbers but I think 140997 was one. And I also remember the month of being down as Steve Roberts mentioned, but I remember the problem being a lower cylinder that we could not get. We mustered on the hangar deck every morning and then were dismissed awaiting parts. It was a month long vacation. And Steve Roberts if you check back in I know our time in VR-1 over lapped, do you remember ADR-2 Hoot Gibson?

I flew 14099, or "Triple Niner" as we called her,out of NAS Jacksonville from 1969 to 1971. We flew her missions under the direction of NALCOLANT (Naval Air Logistics) in Norfolk, Virginia, even though she was the more of less the personal aircraft of COMFAIRJAX (Commander Fleet Air Jacksonville) who I believe was a 2 Star Admiral. She was a VIP bird all the way with big stuffed lounge chairs. We kept her skin buffed to a high gloss at all times. It was a sweet bird. It had hot wings but they were stiff making for a rough ride in turbulence. It has the nicest cockpit layout of any aircraft in those days. It was too pretty and too good of an aircraft to be scrapped. I'd sure like to know what happened to the "Sweet Lady Triple Niner".
