I am a volunteer for The Captain Micheal King Smith Evergreen Aviation Educational Institute in McMinnville, Oregon. We have a C-47A that we are restoring to static display condition. We were given a minor history of the aircraft: dropped paratroopers into Normandy on DDay(supposedly 101st AB) also dropped troops into Belgium, participated in drops during The Battle of the Bulge, and then dropped troops in the Rhine crossing. After the war, (in 1952) it saw service with West Coast Airlines out of Seattle, Wa. as a civilian airliner.
The USAAF plate is labled - "TYPE: C-47a-35-DL, SERIAL #AC43-15512, ORDER #AC-32725".

The Douglas conversion was done 2-17-48 "Factory #19978, Model C47A-R1830-92"

The civilian Certification Reads as:
"West Coast Airlines
Georgetown Station
Seattle 8, Washington
Registration # N62376
Douglas Serial # 19978

The numbers would have likely changed to those mentioned in the latter above after conversion.

Can anyone help us out in discovering more of this aircraft's history based on the information I have provided? Or suggest anywhere that I may find out more?

Thank You.
