I was a Sgt. at Kirkland AFB in 1969. I was assigned to 58th Weather Recon. Squadron were I worked on the air handler systems. We had RB57C & F models. I had to work all night to get plane ready to fly the next morning. The planes would return too hot to approch until they washed.I loved these planes!

Hello, I was the Crew Chief of WB-57F #292 and I was the one that launched the plane on it's final flight when it broke up.
I also was the main witness to the incident as I happen to be looking out my dorm room window and saw the beginning of the break up, ran outside and saw the plane during it's long fall from the sky.
I was also interviewed by the investigation team. Mach Tuck

God Speed Jim and Pat the crew of my favorite B-57.
I had a model built of the plane in commemoration of the crew and the plane.

I wish that there was more info online about the 58th WRS.

My father, Col. Darrell L. Clark, flew for the 58th around 1968 and 1971. He had fond memories of the experience in that aircraft and the family that surrounded him there in New Mexico. I'd love to hear from any of you that either knew my father or were apart of the 58th back then. I have numerous archival photos and films of the plane in action. I hope to share those with everyone soon. Thanks!
