My father,John Dober, was a radio man, gunner on a PB Martin patrol bomber in WWII. His friends were Mike Blake
and Jim Durant for Rescue Squandrat 3 "Dumbo" and he is trying to locate them. I would like to take him to a museum that has his plane and to put him in touch with his friends if they are still living.
It was a 1940 vintage PB Martin with gullwings that go upwards, then out and had pontoons on the end of the wing tips to rescue and land of the water. He was in Rescue Squandrant 3 ... Can you help me? Email me at klm@salsgiver.com.

Thanks so much

My step father, Wendell Glenn Harrison, Stationed aboard St.George AV-16, was a crew member on PBM-3's from San Pedro, CA. to Japan. During one of the Moorings, a crew member running to the wing tip, set the Float and wing tip into the water and the Plane took water through the open side hatch and sunk. The crew had to swim untill picked up by the service boat. Glenn was on the plane deck with his PBM when the Kamakasi came over his head and hit the crane and superstructure.
Sure would like to know which Anchorage that was ?
4/28/06 Glenn will be 92 in Oct.
He later built and serviced SR 71's until retirement.
