A little know fact about this aircraft was; It was designed with a "linear bomb bay".... this was a tunnel which ran thru the center of the fuselage, between both engines. The tunnel carried three items. 1) fuel tanks 2) a Nuke and 3) a LIQUID ROCKET ENGINE. I forget the exact desigination, however it was a "LR-xx", made by ROCKETDYNE, Div. of North American Avitaion. The rocket used concentrated Hydrogen Peroxide (99.8 to 99.9%) as a oxidizer, and JP-what ever as a fuel.

I worked at North American Aviation, Columbus Div. and in Feild Engineering, and specialized in the function of the linear bomb bay andoperation of the rocket engine.
