Visited with my girlfriend. All they had was a reproduction 1911 Wright plane, some hands on exhibits for the kids and a very tired T-33 that you could climb in. It was literally filthy and what was left of the instrument panel was smashed. Good enough as a science museum to take the kids to but a waste of time if you want to see airplanes.

Not aviation friendly! This place had a 707 that you could walk through and sold it for scrap. I wish there was a zero star option.

I too believe that the aviation exhibit does need some upgrading. As a former Philadelphia resident, I frequented The Franklin Institute many times and enjoy visiting when I come back to visit with family. It is an excellent museum, but the aircraft gallery could use a fresh aircraft and some fresh exhibits.

This exhibit is in need of a major overhaul to keep up with the times. I cannot undestand why they continue to have that obsolete T-33 plane when we can get a F-16!
