This year's WOG was a great success, the weather was great and the turnout was even better. Although I'm not sure why we call it static becuase there was a flying schedule as well as the trimotor (bushmaster) and the Waco biplanes flying all the time. Still there were so many aircraft turning up that it became a bit of a problem to find parking for them all without blocking the ramp. One thing that was funny was at the end of the roped tarmac where the bushmaster was giving rides, the people either waiting for their turn or just watching obviously didn't know what prop-wash is... (We really should have a warning sign next year)on one trip when it turned to go up the ramp to the taxiway, it turned away from the crowd and the three radials blew hats and all sort of things everywhere(i counted 13 hats) anyway it was a great show and I hope anyone who reads this can visit us in the future

Stop by the Classic Rotors exhibit and tour the last flying H-21 Shawnee. Used in the movie 'Godzilla' this helicopter is quite unique.

Wings over Gillespie is an Airshw put on by Air group one wing of CAF, featuring many aircraft owned by the CAF and private Pilots, the Theme this year is as patriotic as ever, a salute to American Air Power. The two headlining Aircraft are an A-26 owned by an Air gorup one member and A Consolidated B-24, "The dragon and his tail" (formerly All American) and a B-17. both owned by the colins foundation. It is from Friday may 3rd to May 5th. with aircraft starting to leave on sunday around 3 o, clock. There are rides offered in aircraft, including the B-17 and B-24. and a press flight with a number of aircraft on friday. I am a cadet in AG1 and have worked in the past 4 airshows, this year I have three new cadets, and it up to me to show them the ropes of how to help operate the flightline and hanger. I hope anyone reading this will be interested in coming if not this year, then in the future.
