Reviews/Comments Tyson V. Rininger tvrphoto@earthlink.net Monterey, California | The Pacific Coast Air Museum hosted a great air show this year with some wonderful acts by Steve Stavrakakis, Eddie Andreini, Dan Buchanan, Brian Sanders, Scott Hammack and a plethora of warbirds.
This year's Grand Marshall, Captain Charles Wright provided some of the military muscle with his CAG painted F/A-18E joined by two of VFA-125's F/A-18C's. Also in attendance was an F-117 flyby and an F-16 demonstration. Another high point of the day was the gratification and remeberence expressed to our military veterans as well as to those who should follow in their footsteps.
The volunteers of PCAM did a wonderful job and no doubt will they exceed our expectations next year.

P.S. Eddie, I hope I didn't scare you half as much as you scared me on the pre-ribbon cut flyby!
Sorry I missed seeing you Bernardo, I'm sure we'll catch up sometime soon!

Bernardo Malfitano supersonicaviator@hotmail.com Stanford, California | As advertised, this is THE aviation event in Northern California. Thevariety was breathtaking, Stearmans and Stealths and everything in between. Demos by an F-16 and an F-18 and an F-117, heritage flights with Grumman 'cats and Sea Furies, Steve Stavrikakis and Eddie Andreini's world-class aerobatics, TONS of cool jets, and more warbirds than you'll ever see together (except for Oshkosh, Chino, etc). SUPERB. The museum that organized the show, the Pacific Coast Air Museum, has an incredible collection of jet fighters (if you don't think of the F-14 and F-16 as "museum aircraft", then in this case you're wrong) and some REALLY rare planes, like an old Ilyushin transport. The ground display was extremely varied - tons of biplanes, general aviation planes, modern military planes and choppers, warbirds... Who could ask for anything more? 10/19/2002 @ 21:12 |
