Lt.Col.Cash(ret)USAF Marquez, Texas | Weather conditions on Saturday with the ceiling on the runway, made it impossible to present these birds at their best. Cancellation was of course essential. I was disappointed that we were not even able to enter and visit with the old birds I used to fly. For the last five years,"Wings Over Houston" has offered the "Best of the Best" with a choice display of pilots, planes (both new and vintage)and performance. The narration with the performace unites us all with a sense of patriotism, unity and gratitude.H.C.C. 10/28/2002 @ 07:25 |
Mike b17volmech@mail.ev1.net Houston, Texas | Too bad about the weather! I look forward to the show every year as it's one of the best shows in the country! I still don't understand why the show isn't promoted more. There is hardly any mass advertising in the city, most of the guys I work with didn't even know there was a show this weekend and they're airline mechanics!! By the way, this is a great site, expertly done. The site and the show are 5-star world class events. Hope to see you on Sunday. 10/27/2002 @ 00:43 |

Larry lockhart , Texas | Clouds are expected to blanket most of Southeast Texas and there will be a 50 to 70 percent chance of rain through today, according to the National Weather Service. The chance of rain in Houston drops to 30 percent Sunday.
The rain forced the cancellation of the 2002 Wings Over Houston Airshow Festival today at Ellington Field. Organizers said they will decide later if Sunday's show will be canceled and suggested people call 713-266-4492 for information.
