Ken San Antonio, Texas | Looking for a photo of the F-4C out front with the F-101B. The plane my dad flew is there (63-7679) I was wondering if that is the one. 02/20/2014 @ 10:37 [ref: 55580] |
Richard Woodward Vancouver, Washington | Served in the 142nd from '72 thru '76 as an Air Ops Spec. no finer craft than the Voodoo. no better men than those who flew them and the crews who kept them in the air. 09/12/2006 @ 18:32 [ref: 5254] |
MSgt Cullins, USAF RET , Oregon | As a Segerant assigned to the 142 Security Police Brance of the 142 Fighter Interceptor Group, I stood sentry duty on A/C 58-301 F-101b VooDoo on October 6, 1973-Yom Kipper War alert at the Portland ANG Base in Portland, Oregon. Took a trip out last night 14 October '05 to see her on display. Great Aircraft! Great Memories! 10/15/2005 @ 12:33 [ref: 4510] |
Savannah Patterson Vancouver, Washington |
Hi! My daddy works here! His name is James Patterson but you guys in his squadron call him j.j.
I am his daugter Savannah Patterson. He flies one of the Jolly Green Giant helecoptors. I am 10 years old and I have been coming to his work with him all my life! I really enjoy it! It hasn't changed much at all. Exept for the Air Craft Fleet Room located near the front door, it used to be filld with pop, but they changed it all to beer. You can look for me near the pop machines or sometimes I run back and forth through the main entrance.Bye Bye! 01/14/2002 @ 22:46 [ref: 1781] |

Michael Baldock Guildford, England, Northwest Territories & Nunavut | To follow up Tom's comment I visited the other Oregon ANG airfield at Klamath Falls and asked if I could photograph an F-4 that they had on display in their compound and the gate guard's response was so curt and abrupt as to be rude/ignorant, especially to a foreign visitor who likewise generally admires the dedication and professionalism of the US forces. No, Oregon ANG is to be avoided, not at all people friendly. A pity because Oregon itself is a wonderful state! NOT WORTH A LOOK! 04/02/2001 @ 05:19 [ref: 992] |

Tom Dorwart Manteca, California | I fly into Prtland on business occasionally and see the static displays over on the Base side of the field. Being a pilot and the son of a Retired USAF Col., I was greatly disappointed to be told by the young airman on the main gate I had to have a base pass or me military to see the displays. When I requested a visitors pass, I was told I didn't have authorized business on the base. The airman informed me the base was not on heightened security when I asked.
I had to give a 1 star as you must give a rating.I have great respect for the members of our military and the Guard. Unfortunately, I guess the public which help to finance the operations are not welcome.
