Performance |
The T-28 Trojan was initally used by the USAF and US Navy as a basic and advanced pilot trainer. The Navy's T-28C was equipped with a strengthened rear fuselage and tail hook for carrier landings.
This aircraft (Ser# 51-03529, Fennec 44) is a T-28S Fennec (Desert Rat), that was one of approx. 200 aircraft sold to France, under MAP (Military Assistance Program) in the late 50's. France in turn modified some of the Fennec's for the Ground-Attack role, adding 50 caliber Gun Pods and rocket launch-rails under the wings. Approx. 35 of these Ground Support Fighters were sold to Morocco and used by the Royal Moroccan Air Force in the Algerian Conflict in the mid 60's. This is one of those RMAF fighters.
