Dave Baird Spray, OR | I was TDY to NKP Thailand from Feb 1969 to June of 69 flying the YQU 22A. I went from there to C-141's and then RB-57's at Kirtland AFB, NM. I would welcome e-mail from any old NKP folks! 04/08/2007 @ 17:02 [ref: 16140] |

Fred Laird Tomball, TX | I was one of several civilian test pilots and drone controller for Univac Corporation, the Air Force program's Primary Contractor, involved in the research and development phase of the "A" model in the US, as well as operations in Thailand (1969-1970). I was also involved in the "B" model development program at Marana Air Park, AZ, until the Univac program ended. I may still have some photographs, old checklists and other items from this program if anyone is interested. 10/24/2005 @ 23:50 [ref: 11562] |
Edward Gonser Tifton, GA | I flew the YQU22a at Nakhon Phanom during the initial testing, along with about 6 or 7 other pilots. WE were Detachment 1 of the 553 Rcw. We eventually shut down operations and moved to Eglin AFB (field 3, Duke) wher we set up CCTS to train new pilots in the B model. We were the 424th special operations training squadron under Special operation Force. We also performed all the acceptance flights and accepted the new B models from
beechcraft.
