David Hatcher Dothan, AL | The Bell Model 209 is the manufacturers designation for what is known as the Cobra attack helicopter. The experimental airframe, N209J has an intact data plate and shows the serial number as 20001. Like the Model 207 Sioux Scout, it was funded by Bell and never bought by the Army. Although originally donated to the Armor Museum at Fort Knox Kentucky, it was transferred to the Army Aviation Museum at Fort Rucker, Alabama. It is in non display storage. 12/03/2006 @ 05:01 [ref: 14897] |
