Aaron Maxwell , KS | Kathy I am Lloyds grandson and my uncle John Fickler has some pictures but im not sure if he had any of the entire crew they did fly atleast two planes because one was shot up so bad it was not able to be repaired (his words) we miss him so much still, good luck in finding any more pics of him. 09/11/2010 @ 15:21 [ref: 29935] |
Daniel , NV | Please find below three photos of what I believe to have been the crew of B-17F "Rum Boogie", 42-30365, of the 337th Bomb Squadron, 96th Bomb Group (H), 8th Air Force. The first is a "composite" picture made up of two photos, stacked "over-and-under." The second is a picture of the youngest crew member, Staff Sergeant Bob Lee. The third picture depicts SSgt Lee with his father, F.J. Lee, and his brother, Graydon Lee. 01/04/2010 @ 15:38 [ref: 25517] |
Karl Stoneburner , FL | Ms. Sigdestad, on 17 October 1943, B-17F #42-30365 "Rum Boogie" of the 337th Bomb Squadron, 96th Bomb Group (H), 8th Air Force failed to return to base following a recall for bad weather on a mission to Duren, Germany. The Missing Air Crew Report #1019 states that, "In a word, the Crew simply disappeared." The aircraft apparently crashed into the North Sea and the crew was never seen again. The crew was on its 15th mission. 12/25/2009 @ 19:43 [ref: 25474] |

Kathy Sigdestad , KY | I am searching for a picture of my uncle Lloyd Fickler's B17 crew (#0-23)and plane. He was in the 96th BG, 337th SQD in England during WW II. His crew survived 25 bombing missions between May and Sept 1943. He was a copilot (F/O & later Lt.) with James Sander pilot, William Spencer, Ellis Savoie, Charles Goyette, George Wyhere, Alvin Ness and George Gant. They flew several planes named "Rum Boogie" including 42-29735, 42-29962, 42-29975 and 42-30365.
Thank you for any information.

Jack L Gilbert Rio Rancho, NM | NOTE: Most of the photos posted here are not of the B-17F, but, instead, of the later B-17G. Some very late F models did have chin turrets, but I don't believe that any of those aircraft have survived. 02/26/2009 @ 15:35 [ref: 23821] |

Ross McClintock Bakersfield, CA | To: Jeff Weber, Steve Clark-
I have a picture of my Dad's crew in front of the same plane (see picture below) On the back it has the stamp of the photographer from Ardmore, OK. As I recall, my Dad
said they took crew pictures in front of one of the training planes, the reason for the number on the nose. They were shipped overseas soon after and served in the 333rd BS, 94th BG Bury St. Edmond. 06/13/2008 @ 23:00 [ref: 21420] |
