On April 4, 1943 an SB2A-2 crashed near NAS North Island in San Diego, California. An investigation into the crash showed that a fault with the fuel tank selector had meant that the aircraft had simply run out of fuel. Both the student and instructor were killed in the crash. 07/19/2006 @ 09:22 [ref: 13753]
