There is now a Curtiss C-46D,(s/n 44-78019A) at the Palmdale Heritage Air Park. It arrived in about November of 2005 and is in the process of restoration. The wings, vertical fin and horizontal stab have yet to be installed, but now that the fuselage has been placed in the final display location they should be installed shortly.

This aircraft was flown to the United States from Taiwan by Fred Patterson (Captain)and Daniel Mac Millan (First Officer & Navigator in about 1980. I still have the original air charts from the journey. We used bladder tanks in the main cabin and plumbed both engines to enable us to reprovision the engine oil inflight. We flew from Tinan airbase in Taiwan to Kwajalein Island in the pacific and then on to Honolulu and Oakland California in about 50 hours of flight time.
