David F. Anderson  Raleigh, NC | This aircraft was plagued by engine troubles throughout its career. It had either a very short time in combat, or no combat use at all (still researching this point). The airframe/powerplant were not a good match, and this could have been the cause of the problems. The U.S. sent some SO3C's to Canada and Great Britain, but it seems they had not better luck than the U.S. Many of the Seamews in the U.K were used as target drones, I believe.

james robitaille  , MA | I agree with the other commentor, the site needs photos of the floatplane version. And i would include a drawing with dimensions. 10/23/2001 @ 22:07 [ref: 3464] |
Gordon L. Hewstone  Southampton, AL | Good colour photo of floatplane version on USS Biloxi c.Oct 1943 on p44 of \'Carrier Air War in Original WWII Color\', Lawson & Tillman, ISBN 0-87938-9834.
Illustration of flaotplane version on this website would be useful!
