John D. Voss  , CA | As the SO3C performance was less than satisfactory many were painted in a high vis yellow/orange paint scheme and converted into target drones(-1K &-2K's). Utility squadron VJ-11 at NAS Santa Ana (CA) operated 70 such aircraft. The British Royal Navy followed suit and made similar conversion for their SO3C's (aka the "Queen Seamew"). 03/24/2006 @ 12:27 [ref: 12902] |
