Bill Pitts  Hillsboro, OH | I currently help maintain a fleet of DC9's converted to freighters. I believe they are one of the most reliable and easy to work planes out there. The JT8D engines are very good aside from occasional throttle split and Epr fluctuations. From a structures stand point I do not like the titanium doublers used through out the airframe. Having learned structures on B52 and KC135's, the Boeings were much easier to repair. 02/28/2001 @ 08:48 [ref: 1729] |
