James Frederick Chicago, IL | As a ADJ-2, during the mid-60's, I was assigned as petty officer in charge of the flight test office at NARF Jacksonville, FL. We were the first group of Navy airmen to receive air crew wings in the TA-4's, flying back seat during test flights out of rework. Our test pilots were returning Viet Nam combat pilots, so things were a little "loose" to say the least. We all got plenty of stick time and I was even allowed to get in some touch and goes. Our group also flew back seat in RA5C's, no flight controls in the rear seat but one hell of a ride.
I would very much like to hear from anyone assigned to NARF Jacksonville during the 60's. I know you are out there - jimf@loebequipment.com 03/24/2009 @ 11:45 [ref: 24006] |
