The XA-26F was located at George T. Baker aviation school in Miami,Florida and was scrapped around 1969 or 1970.
The students at the school broke it apart.

During the years 1950 and 1951 I flew the XB-26F #44-34586 for Shell Oil Co. on a bailment contract for the USAF doing fuel research.
It was returned to the USAF in December of 1951 and I was wondering whether it is still exists. The aircraft set a speed record over a 1000 KM course carrying a 1000KG load.
I have several in flight photos that I can send you if you're interested.
