mike ryder huntsville, AL | I recently spent time working at Lakehurst NAS. I met a wonderful man, his name John Innacone. He is the last living member of the airship Los Angeles. He was on the landing crew for the Hindenburg, as well. He gave me a large section of the fabric from ZPG-2 141669. This was the last remaining U.S. Navy Blimp that was dissasebled at Lakehurst. The last of the last, and I have fabric. He also gave me a piece of the duralumen frame section of the Hindenburg. I have since become a collector of airship relics. I will be selling some of the fabric from the ZPG ship on Ebay, shortly.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you are interested in some of this historic fabric.
Best wishes.
Mike Ryder

Gerald L. Goldberg Farmington, MI | I was a Stress Analyst Engineer on the ZPN-1 in 1952 & 1953. I worked on the car structure, especially on the mechanism that lower the Sonar Fish into the water. I would appreciate any photos by email of the ZPN-1.
Thanks, Jerry Goldberg 03/23/2004 @ 16:36 [ref: 7037] |
