Glenn Carrollton, TX | This thing is a piece of junk from some braindead general or designer!! I don't know HOW we ended up with crap like this!! Good thing we didn't put it into front line use or we would get our asses shot off EVERY TIME!!! 10/08/2009 @ 18:33 [ref: 25160] |

\"DOC\" CRESCI walla walla, WA | THE FIRST (AND ONLY) TIME I SAW THE F3F, PROBABLY A -2 OR
LATER, WAS IN ORDNANCE SCHOOL AT NORMAN, Ok. WE HAD A CLASS
OR TWO ON TIMING THE CAL..50 TO FIRE THROUGH THE PROP AND NOT HITTING THE BLADES. SOMETHING LIKE ALIGNING THE LOBES OF THE MECHANISM BETWEEN THE BLADES. SO MUCH FOR THE NOMEN-
CLATURE! WENT TO PURCELL, Ok, THEN TO FORT LAUDERDALE, FL.,
WHERE I BECAME A TURRET GUNNER ON THE TBF-NEVER FLEW IN THE
TBM UNTIL I HIT THE FLEET. 01/16/2002 @ 00:39 [ref: 4099] |
Allen Whaites. Sydney NSW 2211, OTH | Could you please advise me of the fuselage colour of the Grumman F3F-2 you have on exhibition in your Museum. The photographs I am getting from your web page suggest that it could be light gray ,however I have always thought it was an aluminium colour.I am at the moment building a scale model of this aircraft so accuracy of the colour is quite important to me.
Many thanks
& regards
