Bob Breeden Knoxville, TN | The F8F-2P that is in England was previously based in Knoxville, TN along with two other Bearcats. Two were painted with the "Red Rippers" paint scheme. I flew "100", the one in England, and Chub Smith was killed in "200". The other F8F was sold.
I have lots of pictures and history if anyone is interested. 08/27/2001 @ 12:38 [ref: 3033] |
Carol de Solla Atkin London, OTH | There is an F8F-2P in England. It is owned by The Fighter Collection
and is based at Duxford Airfield in Cambridgeshire (Junction
10 on the M11 motorway). It is a regular flyer at airshows all over Europe.
