Lee , VA | Most LB-6 served in the Canal Zone (29-13, 14, 15 and 16) and Hawaii (29-17 thru 29-25). On 14 May 1930, all surviving LB-6 in the Canal Zone (29-15 crashed in October 1929) were converted to LB-7. They were retired 1931-33. The Hawaiian based LB-6 were retired 1933-35. LB-6 29-26 was converted to XLB-11 on 3 March 1931 and then to XLB-11A on 1 April 1931. It was reconverted to an LB-6 on 31 May 1932 before being relegated to the 40th School Squadron at Kelly Field, TX. LB-6 29-11 and 12 served at Bolling, Langley and Wright Fields before being sent to the 40th School Squadron in 1931. Aircraft 29-27 was delivered as an LB-10. 12/25/2000 @ 13:09 [ref: 1233] |
