Stephanie Wainer Clemmons, NC | My grandfather's Aviators Flight Log Book show him being on a PK-1 out of Pearl from december 1933 to January 1935, if this information matters to anyone. I would be happy to share the contents of the book with anyone who knows more about it than I. My grandfather was in the Navy. 12/27/2004 @ 21:00 [ref: 8985] |
Jack Foley Columbia, MD | As far as I can determine, the PK-1 was flown by one or several of the U.S. Navy patrol squadrons who made the very first flight from Pearl Harbor to Midway Island, via French Frigate Shoals, in May 1935. The squadrons involved were VP-1, VP-4, VP-6, VP-8 and VP10. According to my father, who was a pilot in VP-1, the first four squadrons flew some variation of this aircraft: PN10, PH-1, PD-1, PM-1 or this one. Dad does not say which version HE flew. 05/09/2000 @ 08:31 [ref: 168] |
