I worked on the Connies for several years, and I would like to contact some of the guys who also worked on them. Can you assist me in contacting some of them? If you can, please let me know and also, contact some of the ones whose names are on the AEC website now and let them know I would like to contact them. You may give them my e-mail address if you wish so they can contact me.

Charles Povermo provided this link for me. I was also in the 1608 FLM Sqdn. Flight Chief was Super Sgt Lowe. Great to have friends back from the 50's. Charlie contacted me through Boyd Oakley who I had just visted and Boyd gave Charlie my phone number. Boyd still lives near where he grew up. 6700 Walnut Cove Rd. Walkertown, NC 27051-9551

Others I remember are Marty Dumpys, Joe Agresta (from Vermont), Phil Ricter (deceased), David Duncan, Frank Morton, Bill Hodge (Mississippi), Fernanida Basso (Elicott City, MD), ? Dollar, ? Casebeer (spelling - from S. Indiana), ? Green from Atlanta and I sort of remember JIm Hartnett and John Milton. Prior to getting out I had TDY in the Canal Zone for four months. The base commander there encourged me to re-inlist but said no, since I wanted to go to college. I did, graduating from Florida State in 1964 with a BA in meteorology. ran into a fellow Charleston AF guy their named Vern Furst (he was a flight enginner on the C-121s). Worked for the WS for about 8 years, then switched to EPA in Atlanta. Still working as a contractor to EPA here in NC.
Love to hear from any one and bring me up to date on what you have done over the past 50 plus years or so.
Please contact me at lnagler@epa.gov.

I live in Goose Creek, SC, and since I noticed the comments by E.D. Martin, (who it seems also worked on the "Connie," probably at the same time I did) and also lives in Goose Creek, I would like to contact him, but I don't have his e-mail address so I can do so. Could you please give him my e-mail address and ask him to contact me. I'm sure he and I have a lot in oommon after both of us having some of the same experiences on the "Connie".

Who ever runs, monitors this site sure as heck isn't doing a very good job of it..Don't get me wrong, its a great site, but the guys who leave notes with email address's attached wish to have those included with those notes in order for some old chums to contact them..I for one am very disapointed with that part of this site..Please get your head out and correct this ASAP..Thanks again for an otherwise great site..Howard Sizemore ( h_size_99@yahoo.com )

From apr. 1957 to dec. 1960I was at Charleston A.F.B. 1608th flight line maint sqdr. I was a crewchief on miss charleston. I can't remember the s/n but I remember that all connies had names of cities noted on the nose section. It was because of the connie that I got my career in aviation. I really loved working on those "CONNIES". I regreted by not making a career in the AF. Had a lot of great friends there. I dont remember too much about the people but for some reason sqdr. comander col. "hi-fy" Cuba & col. Bradly (sqdr. commander after Cuba)stand out. My shift chief was sgt. Middletown. His nick name was "pussy". Anyone out there remembers me or some of the other men drop me an e-mail, love to hear from you.
