Joe Fairborn, OH | All the pics are of the standard S-3A/B Viking with the underwing D-704 buddy refueling store. The KS-3A did away with the sonarbuoy launcher and had an internal HDU(Hose Drouge Unit) with the underwing pylons used to carry external fuel tanks. The bombay was also sealed shut with extra internal tanks there as well. Its kinda ironic that the KS-3A was cancelled then the standard Vikings were used as fleet refueling tankers. The KS-3A however, did offer more usable fuel to offload compared to the buddy tanker S-3A/Bs. 09/22/2007 @ 18:31 [ref: 17991] |
