Mike Zachary, LA | In 1936 was the Martin B-10/12 that advance and powerful? It is all relative. Compared to what? The B-17G that didn't yet exist. What was it competition in the way of other bombers or defendind fighters. It didn't have to face ME 109Gs of Zeroes. 09/14/2006 @ 08:59 [ref: 14165] |
angel ferrer alexandria, VA | The B-12 was featured in a 1936 pulp magazine story about
Bill Barnes as part of an exercise by the US Army Air Corps
to see how quickly aircraft from all over the US could
be assembled at one base. The B-12's were described as
powerful and fast, enough to make anyone think twice about
attacking the US. Did the author write this tongue-in-cheek?
By 1936 the B-12 could not have been considered all that
advanced or powerful, could it?
Could the author have been prodding the War Department and
the USAAC about how far behind the rest of the world
the US was in preparedness? 07/11/2001 @ 12:29 [ref: 2647] |
