saltyboots , TX | I was the 13th aviation electrician trained on the AV8B. Was assigned to VMAT 203 AVI put together almost all the new birds back in the early 80's. Glad to see others love them like us cold warriors did. Will some of you new guys share skuttle but on how the girls preformed in War. 08/14/2012 @ 22:45 [ref: 65646] |
John , NY | You are correct. The older model AV8A are the same size. The 2 seat model TAV8A is a bit longer. 06/02/2009 @ 20:01 [ref: 24217] |
Myron Brooklyn, NY | Are there different size Harrier aircraft? A sailor aboard a ship recently said that the Harrier AV-I is much bigger than the version on display aboard the Intrepid Museum in New York City. I think this is incorrect that all Harriers are basically the same size. 05/28/2009 @ 10:00 [ref: 24206] |
Chuck \\ Liberty, MO | I flew the Harrier in the RAG VMAT-203 in early 1990, and then in VMA-223 from late 90-93. What a great flying machine! Besides the fantastic flying, my fondest memories are of the wonderful Marines that maintaned our jets, and the deployments that we endured together. SF Fig 02/18/2009 @ 13:27 [ref: 23757] |
