The A6M was used as the primary attack craft in case of enemy fighters during the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941.It would serve as the Primary attack and fighter untill 1945 when Japan was told to scrap all planes by the UN.

your photo designated a6m2 of wrecked aircraft is actually japanese army recon/army coop/lt bomber, code name SONIA. hv
forgotten designation, but this definitely not a zero fighter. other than this, your site is excellent. visited
NAS PNS a few years back and was absolutely overwhelmed.
