Ben Sinko  Blaine, MN | Apparently they are removing email address of this page, so please contact me through my website. www.b32dominator.com if you have any information about the FR-1 you would like to share. 10/17/2007 @ 16:05 [ref: 18220] |
Ben Sinko  , MN | I am looking for men who flew the fr-1 or if anyone can direct me to anyone who flew the fighter. 08/13/2007 @ 17:30 [ref: 17596] |
Mike Letalien  Lubbock, TX | Shot the enclosed picture below through a fence while touring the museum at Chino in 2002. Looks as if the restoration is proceeding nicely. 06/20/2003 @ 14:59 [ref: 6523] |
 J. Whalen  , MA | For those interested, an example of this aircraft may be seen at the Planes of Fame Flying Museum, Chino Airport, Chino CA. 02/27/2001 @ 00:30 [ref: 1718] |
JL  Pensicola, FL | The U.S. Navy first flew this Aircraft in May 1945 on the
U.S.S. Ranger. Only 66 Fighters were built and sadly the
Fireball was discontinued shortly after the War ended in
August 1945. The unveiling of the Fireball was Sept. 26, 1945
a little over a month since the last atomic bomb. From all
the information available on the Aircraft, the FR-1 Fireball
was a perfect selection because the testing of the airplane
went so well in such a short time. This is one aircraft
 the Navy let go too fast. 09/29/2000 @ 15:10 [ref: 816] |
