Bud Verville -Alfred's son was a good friend of my father. He may have died a few years ago.He lived in indiana and was retired from eastern airlines in newark nj . I saw a picture of Folker, Alfred and Bud as a child.I can find Buds last address and full name if you are interested. Most of the Verville documents and a plane were donated to the Smithsonian.

I have been researching Melvin B Asp and a plane he built in the early 1920s. In doing so I read the plane he built used a lawrence Sperry 3 cll radial engine. This is the same engine as used in the Sperry Messenger. I also read that the Plane built by Asp was later produced by a New York concern. In researching this I found the Sperry Messenger. The Asp plane was smaller, only a 18 foot wingspan. I aldo read that the Mesenger was designed at McCook Field. I believe Asp built his plane at Ellington Field in Texas and his first attempted flight in the plane was April 3, 1922. I will attemt posting a picture of teh Asp plane here. I am looking for any help in the connection of Lawrence Spery and Melvin B Asp.
Thanks, Denny

Still looking for log books referencing Sperry's flights or examples of any aeronautical maps which Sperry allegedly offered for sale.

The Empire State Aerosciences Museum, at the Schenectady, NY airport, also has a modest exhibit on Sperry including a 2 1/2 video of the flight of a five foot wingspan radio controlled model which is also now part of the exhibit

Appreciate leads to log books containing information on M-1 flights.
Trying to develop the "definitive" exhibit on Lawrence Sperry.
Other exhibits I should visit?
Thanks
