K Lindsey Richmond, Virginia | This Buf was assigned to Seymour-Johnson AFB during the period I was there, 1968-1971. I was assigned to the 68th OMS there and started out my AF career as a lowly "3rd Wiper" on 601 before later moving on to crew my own, (Tail #59-2587) in 1970. Back then #601 was one of our "newer" buf's and I recall that she had an enviable record for OT TO's and pulled her share of ALERT tours also. I last visited her in 1998. 01/11/2009 @ 23:26 [ref: 8616] |
Greg Santa Rosa, California | To Frank, the AJ tail code is for NAS Oceana. I am the Crew chief on F-86H S/N 53-1328 at Pacific Coast Air Museum and I was wondering if any body has information on the History of the aircraft other than it was stationed with the Puerto Rico ANG and was at China lake to be converted to a target. 12/31/2008 @ 08:11 [ref: 8591] |

Jonathan Hayes Hermitage, Tennessee | I realize we are living in a post-9/11 world. But, dammit, our tax dollars paid for these birds, and we enthusiasts have every right to gain access to them. If the bases will not let us in, then move those planes to a place where we can enjoy them! 07/12/2005 @ 15:28 [ref: 4235] |
angie , New Jersey | As of 1992 Langley AFB does not accept civilian visitors. They have moved the Langley displays to the Virginia Museum of Air and space in Hampton. This page would not allow me to submit this notice without a rating, so I'll enter worth a look so you don't make this trip in vain. 07/02/2005 @ 08:53 [ref: 4199] |

Scott Shea Londonderry, New Hampshire | Unless you are Military or work for NASA its difficult to get onto this base. All the aircraft (minus the B-52) are on sticks, and are thoughout the base. The base is getting F-22's, so another reason to check this place out..Also, NASA usually has cool stuff sitting out in front of its hanger, worth the trip around the base! 02/13/2005 @ 21:09 [ref: 3809] |
