David Thomas , IL | I flew the funk model #285b serial #13 N28686. My flight was mostly to get a tailwheel endorsement. The one I flew was the C model, one of a kind that has a stick instead of a yoke. The full castoring tail takes a while to get use to. Its harder to take off than land. Once in the air it flys as simple as any trainer. My only squawk was the trim only puts tension on springs and really doesn't take away much control pressure. The one I flew is based in Canton, IL. It flys every VFR day. It has been converted to a contenental 85 HP. It still feels underpowered. At almost 70 years old the plane is still giving it's pilots the joy of flight. 06/06/2004 @ 21:21 [ref: 7558] |
