The Bell Model 209 is the manufacturer’s designation for what is known as the AH1 Cobra attack helicopter. Like the Model 207 Sioux Scout, it was funded by Bell. The experimental airframe, N209J (never bought by the Army) has an intact data plate and shows the serial number as 20001. Although originally donated by Bell to the Armor Museum at Fort Knox Kentucky, it was transferred to the Army Aviation Museum at Fort Rucker, Alabama. It is in non display storage.

The 2 YAH1Gs survive, both property of the Army Aviation Museum, Fort Rucker, Alabama. 66-15246 (Bell sn 20002)hangs from the ceiling in the main exhibit hall, 66-15247(Bell sn 20003)is on outdoor display at Hanchey Army Heliport, Fort Rucker,Alabama.
