Don't you ever correct your information on the airplanes???
The B-47 had 6 engines not 4.
I wrote this in 2005.

Jim Lloyd Katonah, NY | 65-066 on display at Chanute is the second XB-47 that was fitted with 6 J47 engines like the production Stratojets. Yes fix the xpecs to reflect 6 engines. 12/03/2005 @ 19:01 [ref: 11872] |
Gary Deabler , MN | I'm not so sure this aircraft on display is the original XB-47 as it differs fomn the USAF photo. The tail nmbers do not match for one and the outboard engines are different 02/24/2005 @ 20:52 [ref: 9525] |
Herb Dabelow Schaumburg, IL | I hope to visit the Chanute museum this Spring.
I have 2,600 hours in the B-47 and every time I went flying in it, I started six engines not four.

John Stuckey Joplin, MO | I just wanted to make a comment on 1 of the specifications on the B-47. The B-47 had 6 Turbojet engines instead of 4. There were 2 mounted inboard, and a single outboard on each wing. I lived on a AFB that had B-47's when I was a kid. I loved the B-47 then and I love it now. Love the pics that I have of them. Great memories........
Thanks 06/05/2001 @ 07:24 [ref: 2407] |
