Steve , FL | There is still a HC-130/P unit at PAFB it's the 39th RQS part of the 920th RQW (formerly 920RQG and 301ST RQS) and has been here since before the AD moved to Moody. The unit was part of the 301st RQS until 99 then becmae a group and seperated the HH-60 and HC-130's into seperate Sqdrns 301st & 39th respectively. I have been in the unit since 1988 at Homestead AFB. Currently we also have 2 WC-130's that are no longer flying the weather mission and we use for pilot pro only. So all AD bubbas out there do not forget that the reserves and guard hold 60% of the rescue iron in the world. 04/25/2007 @ 12:42 [ref: 16298] |
Tim Coppn , CA | All HC-130H aircraft in the USAF have been modified to HC-130P standards as of 1991-92. These include those that have been further modified to MC-130P standards. 06/15/2006 @ 11:51 [ref: 13526] |
Brandon , NM | the unit at Patrick no longer exists. It moved to Moody AFB, 71st RQS (AFSOC) in the late 90's. Also, the 550 Special Operations Squadron (AETC) operates a few HC-130's to train aircrews... 06/24/2005 @ 18:32 [ref: 10572] |
